Our Programs

We prepare the next generation of experts to lead reunification. We encourage students of all backgrounds to consider the role they can play in guiding a reunified Korea.

Though there is widespread agreement that North Korean defectors are uniquely positioned to influence and lead reunification. Yet, their success will depend on a strong foundational understanding of historical democratic movements, global institutions and international affairs. We at KASM aim to close that gap.

Washington Leadership program

Our flagship offering, the Washington Leadership Program (WLP), is a three-week intensive training experience in Washington, DC and New York City. Students visit government institutions, meet government and business leaders, and network with Korean and American peers.

WLP Alumni NEtwork

The WLP alumni network is a self-sustaining group of alumni committed to guiding reunification. With a shared foundation built by their WLP experience, the alumni are equipped to foster support and guide their peers to a more peaceful and prosperous Korean Peninsula.

Winter research and education program

In addition to the WLP, KASM facilitates a winter education and internship program. Select students are invited back to DC to participate in valuable career-building internships or research.

WLP Alumni Reunions

The WLP Alumni host regular gatherings. Twice a year, we all come together for formal reunions to introduce new WLP participants and network with established experts. Additionally, the alumni network meets throughout the year for dinner and other events.
